The Perfect Chispa Margarita for You

With the rain that has finally started to fall throughout Texas it is amazing to see how fast the scorched grass has started turning green. I find myself running outside to enjoy the sound of the pitter patter rain as soon as it starts. It’s a sound that I always loved hearing and take any opportunity that I can to sit on the porch and enjoy it.
What better way to properly enjoy the weather changing than with the perfect margarita.

Margarita and Limes

THE CHISPAS MARGARITA
• 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
• 1/2 cup orange liqueur
• 1/2 cup tequila blanco (Teramana is my favorite to use)
• 1/2 cup coarsely cracked ice cubes

Optional Garnishes
• lime slice
• sea salt or chili for rimming the glasses

Instructions

  1. Rub a lime half against the side of your cocktail glasses.
Once the glass is wet, sprinkle coarse salt onto the moistened area. Set the glasses aside after they’ve been salted to allow them to dry. Shake the Chispa Margaritas
  2. Rub the rims of 2 glasses with a lime wedge, then dip the rims in a dish of course salt.
  3. Refrigerate the glasses if desired.
  4. In a shaker, combine the lime juice, tequila, and orange liqueur.
  5. Add ice and shake 10 to 15 seconds, then strain into the prepared glasses.

So, sit back in your favorite patio chair, sip and savor your surroundings.
Salud!
